Welcome to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The RCIA—also called Christian Initiation—is the process through which adults join the Catholic Church.  If you have never been baptized, or have been baptized in another Christian tradition and wish to learn more about becoming Catholic, the RCIA Inquiry is your first step.

During the course of the Christian Initiation process, you will study the scriptures, learn about and discuss the teachings of the Church and how to apply them to your own life, and experience the liturgical life of the community at Mass and other prayer opportunities, including our Lenten devotions, Advent opportunities and many other communal celebrations.  Together with a parish Sponsor, the Christian Initiation Team, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will come to see if this is where God is calling you--to live a life as a disciple of Jesus Christ within the faith community of the Catholic Church.

It is important to know that this is a process, rather than a program.  There are few set dates.  There is no “graduation.”  And there is no “last chance.”  This is the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, building a relationship with God and preparing to live a new life as a disciple of Jesus Christ as a Catholic Christian. 

Whether you are already committed to becoming a Catholic, or are simply interested in more information about the Catholic Church, please know you are most welcome.    I am available to meet with you in the office Sundays through Thursdays; you are also welcome to reach me through e-mail.
