PASTORAL CARE

As Catholic Christians we are keenly aware of the needs of our community, these ministries take us outside of the parish walls to assist those in need.

Communion to the Homebound

Many of our elderly parishioners are unable to attend Mass due to failing health and immobility.  Other parishioners are unable to attend Mass due to surgery or a temporary illness.  Members of the Homebound Visiting Team serve as a bridge between the whole community that gathers for Eucharist and those who are unable to attend by visiting and taking the Eucharist to the sick and homebound.  Training is provided.  Rose Mary Kollodge Ext 18

MultiFaith Works Care Team

After receiving training, the team is then assigned to one person or household living with HIV/AIDS (Their “Care partner”.  Together team members offer practical support and pastoral care to an individual or household living with AIDS.  Activities may include visiting, transportation, letters and cards, birthday parties, outings, phone calls, childcare, light housework or meal support.  Even more important, teams offer a listening ear, a touch, hugs and friendship.
