ADMINISTRATION

The administrative staff at Holy Spirit is great! This is evident because we have programs every Sunday and our envelopes every month.  But there is so much more that is needed to manage a large Parish, and volunteers assist with a large portion of the work. Could this be where you can step in and lend a hand?  Just a few hours a month is all that is needed, and you might be able to participate from your home.

Annual Report Committee

One of the best methods for parishioners to become aware of the breadth and scope of the wonderful things done in the Parish is by reading and reviewing the Annual Report.  This Committee solicits information for the Report throughout the year from various Parish activities, as well as collecting photographs, and other appropriate statistics and information .  The Committee meets early in the summer to plan the layout of the Report, which will be mailed to all parishioners in October.  Works with parish staff in August and September to complete the final printed version and distribute it throughout the Parish.  If you are creative, have computer or graphic design skills, and/or have a desire to help the communication process within the Parish, then this is a Committee you should consider.

Sunday Coffee Hour

Coffee and refreshments are served in the Parish Hall after most Sunday Masses.  Hosts are needed to take turns with set up, serving refreshments, and clean up.  Training and support are provided.  Time commitment one to two hours a week at the time you choose.  The biggest advantage of this Stewardship function is the opportunity to meet some wonderful people in a fellowship environment.  Free donuts is another plus!!!

Office Assistants

The Parish Office needs volunteers to fill in answering the phones, door etc. when the Administrative Assistant or other staff persons are out of the office for staff meetings etc.   This service would naturally be on an as-needed basis.  Barbara Seabright Ext. 10

Clerical Support

The Parish Office needs volunteers to help with parish mailings or placing inserts in the bulletin.  This would be a weekly commitment that could possibly be done  at home.  Barbara Seabright Ext. 10

Collection Counter

Did you ever wonder where the money goes once it gets in the basket at Mass?  There is a group of volunteers who count the collections money and prepare it for deposit in the bank.

Computer Technical

Use your computer skills on an as needed basis to provide technical support for the administrative staff or any ministries that may need assistance.  There may be a need for ad hoc reports or networking issues.  The office system uses MS-Windows, MS Office 2000 and the DOS based Parish Directory System (PDS).

Data Entry

Volunteers are sometimes needed to enter various types of information using the parish computer system. Training will be provided as necessary to complete the job at hand.

Telephone Follow-Up

There are occasions when it is necessary to personally call parishioners for any number of reasons that range from meeting reminders to “Time and Talent follow-up! All that is required is a voice and a smile!

Funeral Reception Committee

When a parish household experiences a death, it is the custom of the parish to offer hospitality in the parish hall following the ceremony.  A committee arranges for and serves a reception when requested.  A telephone committee invites parishioners to prepare a salad or cookies.
